Julian Assange is the founder of Wikileaks and has been wanted for prosecution for years due to his role in a classified materials leak.

He was arrested on April 10 in the UK at approximately 4:30 pm local time as indicated by the tweet from Wikileaks:

“URGENT: Ecuador has illigally terminated Assange political asylum in violation of international law. He was arrested by the British police inside the Ecuadorian embassy minutes ago.”

It is unclear how long Assange will be in custody for.   Assange was in refuge at the Ecuadorian embassy since 2012 but recently relationships soured.
